The transgender population in California is disproportionately burdened with high rates of HIV. As a people, we struggle with issues of poverty, employment discrimination, lack of health care, stigma, transphobia, and other forms of oppression. Too often, we are not seen, we are not heard, and we are not counted.
This documentary allows us, as a transgender people, to speak for ourselves about issues related to HIV in our community. It is our hope that this documentary is used to enrich the HIV prevention dialogue. And it is our hope that this documentary provides us with an opportunity to be seen, to be heard, and to be counted.
