The Transcending Program began providing services to transgender individuals in 1997. Transcending provides practical support, peer and treatment advocacy services for transgenders of color in San Francisco who are impacted by HIV/AIDS or at risk for HIV infection.

The Transcending program is located in the heart of the community it serves. The site is welcoming and provides a nonjudgmental environment. All services are confidential, culturally sensitive, and operate with clear linkages and collaboration with medical and social service providers
